Membership Levels
There are three levels of mem-
bership - Promoter, Associate and Adopter. Each level has various benefits, although all levels of membership agree to the same Membership Agreements.
Make sure to register now, if your company is interested in using Bluetooth wireless technology but is not yet a member of the Bluetooth SIG.
Promoter Members
Promoter companies are engaged in the development of Bluetooth wireless technology as they are represented on the Board of Directors. On www.bluetooth.com, you get an overview of the board members.
Associate Members
Although all members may use published Bluetooth Specifica-
tions and trademark licenses, Associate members have the opportunity to implement stra-
tegic and technical enhance-
ments to the core specification and profile specifications together with other Associate and Promoter companies. In addition, Associate Members have the ability to review specifications prior to their public availability. The cost of membership depends on the size of the member company.
Adopter Members
Adopter members of the Bluetooth SIG may use published Bluetooth wireless specifications and Bluetooth trademarks, but do not have the opportunity to influence or gain early access to unpublished Bluetooth technology specifi-
cations. Membership is for free.
Read more on the different membership benefits here. If you are interested in upgrading your membership to associate membership, please contact Member Relations.

Bluetooth SIG Membership Possibilities
The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) is comprised of more than 11,000 member companies. Membership within the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) is reserved at the company level. Any company incorporating Bluetooth wireless technology into products, using the technology to offer goods and services or simply rebranding a product with Bluetooth technology must become a member of the Bluetooth SIG. If you are new to the Bluetooth SIG, this quick guide will be extra helpful to you.
The Importance of Membership
Bluetooth SIG members are key to the success of Bluetooth wireless technology because they influence its direction and development. As Bluetooth wireless technology is an open platform, all members of the Bluetooth SIG have permission to use Bluetooth wireless technology in their products and services. In return, the members gain considerable benefits from their membership. Make sure to register now, if your company is interested in using Bluetooth wireless technology but is not yet a member of the Bluetooth SIG. If you are interested in upgrading your membership to associate membership, please contact Member Relations.
Each level of membership has various benefits, although all levels of membership agree to the same Membership Agreements. Bluetooth SIG Confidentiality Guidelines can be found here. For additional information regarding the Confidentiality Guidelines, please refer to the Bluetooth SIG Confidentiality Policy Do's and Don'ts web page. If you would like further clarifications to the exisiting membership agreement in regard to Bluetooth Intellectual Property protections, please learn more by reading the information available about any IP concerns.
The Bluetooth SIG prides itself on being an organization made of members and for members. The SIG works closely with individuals from various member companies on a daily basis - meeting to discuss enhancements, how to best take Bluetooth technology forward, and more. The members are at the core of Bluetooth technology development and the SIG welcomes new participants who would like to make an impact on the future direction of Bluetooth wireless technology.
Membership is not currently open to individuals. Universities may only be registered by someone with the power and authority to accept the Membership Agreements on behalf of the school. Students may not register their school, but may create user accounts associated with the school’s existing membership. How to Get Involved
There are many ways to be involved in the Bluetooth SIG - whether you have an interest in the technical or marketing field. There are over 290 Promoter and Associate members – almost all of whom are involved in Working Groups and Committees helping to further the development of Bluetooth wireless technology.
Through different events such as face to face meetings, annual events, and other activities throughout the year, members volunteer their time to build upon and evangelize Bluetooth technology. Members get the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge via networking & training events as well as on-line training. Members can also get involved by donating their Bluetooth enabled products to the Bluetooth SIG for testing and PR purposes, participating in SIG sponsored PR activities and events, and more.
