Winners of the Bluetooth Breakthrough Awards program were announced on 2 March from the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona, Spain. The category winners epitomizing the best Bluetooth enabled products and applications on the market today, as well as innovative prototypes and concepts are: Procter & Gamble in the Application Category; SMART Technologies in the Product Category; iCradle in the Prototype Category. Additionally, sixteen year old Kenneth Shinozuka named winner of the Breakthrough Awards student category, which celebrates submissions from the next generation of Bluetooth innovators and young entrepreneurs.
From these category winners, iCradle's Bluetooth Smart wireless hub and hands-free bicycle system, COBI, was selected as the Overall Winner.

Dr. James Chapman, VP of Connectivity, CSR
Dr Chapman has had a career spanning 16 years in the semiconductor and telecommunications industries, previously running global teams developing software for CSR’s system-on-chip products, and prior to joining CSR was a director of mobile multimedia software at Broadcom. He holds MA and D.Phil. degrees in physics from the University of Oxford and an MBA from Henley Business School.

Alf Helge Omre, Nordic Semiconductor
Alf Helge Omre gained his Electrical Engineering degree from the Gothenburg Technical Institute, followed by BTech EEE at University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, UK. Omre started his career as a Sales Engineer at Teleste OY, then moved to a management position as a Northern District Manager in Dallas Semiconductor, followed by five years as Product Manager in Memec AS until 2002. Same year, Omre joined Nordic Semiconductor as a Product Manager for SoC/ASIC. In 2010, Omre was promoted to his current position of Business Development Manager for Bluetooth Smart. In his job, he drives the development and adoption of Nordic’s Bluetooth Smart products. Omre has contributed in several Bluetooth SIG WGs on profile definition work. In his spare time, Omre enjoys family weekends at the cabin with sailing and fishing.
