What are the requirements to use the 4.0 Specification Name when labeling my product or design?

Answer: Bluetooth 4.0 technology is the requirement to use Bluetooth Smart naming on your end products. If your End Product does not support low energy then it should not be labeled as Bluetooth Smart. Please reference the Bluetooth Brand Book to find out more about correct use of the Specification Names.

Please refer to the Core Specification v4.0 Volume 0, Part B Compliance Requirements to view minimum requirements for each product type.

A 4.0 End Product must support at a minimum the LOW ENERGY CORE CONFIGURATION or the BASIC RATE AND LOW ENERGY COMBINED CORE CONFIGURATION.

See below for the minimum requirements for each Core Configuration that can be used to label a product with the 4.0 Specification Name.
